Skincare Tools & Devices That Actually Work

Skincare is a MUST and something that, I believe, you shouldn’t skimp out on. It all comes down to the ingredients when searching for the right products and quality when it comes to the right tools.

There was a period of time where I was lackadaisical with my skincare routine, to say the least. Worst. Mistake. Ever. I was breaking out like crazy. My friends noticed it, my family noticed it, everyone and their mom noticed.

I wasn’t following my normal skincare routine. I completely stopped using my tools and bought facial products without doing any type of research beforehand. After a few months of being depressed about it, I decided to finally take action and ramp up my skincare regimen.

The tools mentioned in this post, in conjunction with my favorite products, have completely transformed my skin, its texture, and the frequency in which I have a breakout! Without further ado, let’s get into it!

facial cleansing brush

This is a must-have; seriously. If you do not own some type of facial cleansing brush, well…here is your sign to order one! As many of you know, my tried and true is the Clarisonic (read all about it here). However, L’Oréal (the parent company) decided to shut them down in September of 2020 (cries). Luckily, I was able to find replacement brush heads on Amazon that fit perfectly so IF you still have one, definitely check these out so you can continue to use your Clarisonic until it completely dies.

So why exactly do you need a facial cleansing brush if you already have a good cleanser? Having a tool allows you to get a deeper cleanse and reach the dirt and makeup in your pores. I also notice that my pores are so much smaller when I use a cleansing brush vs not.

I bought this one on Amazon (it’s supposed to be similar to the Foreo or PMD) to test it out and I actually really like it! For the price point, I think it’s a great place to start if you don’t have one. I love how the bristles on this one are made of silicone, which means you don’t have to worry about changing the brush. I found a few others that are comparable to the Clarisonic so I’ll be sure to link them below!

high frequency skin therapy wand

This is another tool that I couldn’t be without! Ellese told me about the NuDerma wand a while ago and omg was she right! It’s amazing. The high-frequency wand stimulates blood flow and kills the bacteria under your skin. Whenever I feel a breakout coming on, I use this immediately and the breakout is gone. I’ve recently been breaking out during *that time of the month* and we all know that hormonal acne is a whole new ballgame. The NuDerma wand has helped out immensely during this time. I’ll use this every day and within three days, my breakout is gone. I’m not sure what kind of sorcery this thing performs but it works. 1000% recommend adding this to your routine if you do not already have one!

MICRONEEDLING REJUVENATION TOOL

If you are in the market for a microneedling tool, the one by GloPro is it. I have heard so many horror stories about people using the cheap ones and damaging their skin. You do not want to go cheap when it comes to putting micro-needles on your face. If you have an existing skin condition, please, please, PLEASE talk to your dermatologist before trying this.

The benefits are amazing; it amplifies skincare absorption and creates firmer, smoother skin. When using the tool, your skin’s natural rejuvenation response is ignited, which stimulates cells to restore volume and glow from the inside out. Essentially, it helps to smooth the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles! This doesn’t happen overnight, so consistency is key here.

Rose Quartz or Jade Facial Roller

This is something I didn’t think I would love as much as I do now. Tbh, I thought the whole facial rolling thing was such BS; just another gimmicky thing for people to spend their money on haha. So, I started off with a cheap $13 jade roller I found at some health shop and fell in love! Once I noticed how frequently I was reaching for it, I invested in a better one.

The rose quartz facial roller is also by GloPro so it is compatible with the tool used for microneedling! It instantly contours and de-puffs, reduces surface inflammation, promotes lymphatic drainage, and minimized the appearance of dark circles. All of which I can say is accurate. I love to use this the morning after a night of too much wine because my face is always puffy. Definitely a game changer.

Facial Steamer

The facial steamer is definitely the product I reach for the least, but I figured I would include it for those looking for one of quality. When I remember to use it, I love it. It’s soo relaxing and it makes you feel as if you’re at the spa. It’s great to use before a face mask because it really opens up your pores and makes your skin more receptive to skincare treatments. It also moisturizes and softens your skin!

The reason I went with the one from Vanity Planet is because 1) it’s cute and 2) it can be used with essential oils for a therapeutic and relaxing experience (my favorite essential oil to use is rose).

Well that is all I have for now! I hope this was helpful to those looking to amp up their skincare routine. Until next time!
