Happy New Year everyone! Is 2022 seriously over? It feels like last week was just July? I’ve made a few resolutions for myself this year. 1) Graduate with my Masters in Interior Architecture, 2) Find a job that I absolutely love, 3) Blog more (I did a pretty good job last year!), and 4) Save for a new car (do NOT get me started on the drama with my car hahaha). What resolutions do you have for yourself?
Anywho – I am someone who LIVES for a good robe. After I shower, I immediately have to hop into one. There is something special about doing your skincare routine in a soft robe; am I right?
I’ve gone through a number of robes – ones from Amazon, TJMaxx, Pottery Barn, and Target. I was loving the one I got from Pottery Barn, however, after about a year it started to look dingey. Like seriously? For $150…why are you doing that? The fur started to look matted and the white started to look tinted. I couldn’t bleach it because of the fur. I ended up throwing away the robe after 2.5 years.
I was looking to invest in a robe that was of quality and would last a while, without wearing out. I immediately came across SKIMS multiple times. After reading many reviews, I landed on the velour one! I kept going back and forth between the cozy and velour line. Tbh, I am probably going to end up ordering the cozy one in a few months because the velour one blew my expectations out of the water (and as mentioned before, I am obsessed with a good robe hehe). The details of the velour robe is as follows:

Next, I had to decide on a color. This was another hard decision because I loved the color Sienna (dark nude) and Amethyst (dark smokey purple). As you can see, I landed on Sienna! The color is GORGEOUS in person, my god! It would literally compliment any skin tone!
I ended up paying $128 on Nordstrom’s website.
The fit is definitely oversized, but I expected that after reading through the reviews. For reference, I am 5′ 3″ and 115 lbs and ended up ordering an xxs. You can tell in the photos that there is plenty of room in this robe! HOWEVER, it doesn’t feel like it’s too big. It feels like a super comfortable oversized sweater that I can curl up in. The length is actually perfect as well – it falls right at my ankles!
One reason I am such a huge fan of SKIMS is because they are size inclusive! They range from xxs (00) to 4x (24 – 26)!
I am not kidding when I say that this is the softest robe I have ever felt. I get cold very easily and have not had any problems with insulation (I guess you could say hahah). This keeps me extremely warm. It is perfect for the fall and winter months. I do think it may be too hot during the summer time, unless your AC is cranked up.
I was dying because Sabir asked me to order him this exact robe, but in black. Sadly, they don’t offer that color BUT they definitely should! Men want to feel luxe too :).
I haven’t had any issues washing it so far. Make sure to wash in cold water with like colors – so do not wash this with jeans, ladies! When it comes to sweaters, robes, and bras, I typically let them air dry on my drying rack. This helps to extend the life of the garment. HIGHLY recommend getting one if you do not own!

I hope this review was helpful. If you are in the market for a new robe, definitely check out the velour line from SKIMS. Another thing to note is that the actual SKIMS website is always sold out. I ordered mine from Nordstrom. They *usually* always have the popular colors and sizes in stock. If you’re lucky, they may also have it available in store!
