Happy Monday! Let’s talk about nails today. The other week, I looked down at my hands and realized ‘wow, my nails have grown so much AND they are actually healthy!’ I am always off and on with my nails; one month I am consistent with my vitamins and manicures, the next I’m not and my nails start breaking. For the longest time, I’ve been doing my nails at home. If you haven’t read my post on how to do gel nails at home, you can read it here.
However, I have recently found a nail salon in the McLean area that I love; Kissme Nail Spa! It’s nice to switch it up and go somewhere once in a while 🙂
Anyway, let’s get straight to the four things that have helped me significantly when it comes to growing healthy long nails!
Biotin
It’s no secret that biotin is the one thing that has significantly contributed to my nail growth. Not only does it make my nails grow like crazy, but it also helps with hair growth! I’ve been using the Sports Research brand for years and love it!
Nail Strengthener
This nail strengthener was introduced to me by a friend earlier this year. I hadn’t used one before and honestly, I wish I knew about it sooner! It actually works. When I do not have a manicure, I’ll apply this strengthener every other day.
manicure
My nails tend to break a lot less when I have a manicure. Gel and dip powder manicures are what work best because it makes the nails feel stronger! I recently got one of those UV protection gloves and love it (no one wants expedite the process of wrinkles)!
nail file
Last but not least, keep a nail file with you at all times! I know it sounds dramatic but I keep one in every purse, my car, and a few at home. The moment I feel a nail snag, I use the nail file to prevent it from further breaking. This has saved my nails numerous times!
