I don’t know about you but when I’m laying out on a beautiful sunny day, I want to enjoy a nice cold, dry, crisp and refreshing wine. These are in no particular order, I love them all! The price range is between 10 and 20 dollars.
- Whitehaven’s Sauvignon Blanc
- Christian Salmon’s Sancerre Rosè
- Apothic’s Rosè
One thing to note is that I HATE sweet wines. Moscato and dessert wines give me a terrible headache if I drink more than one glass so I try to steer clear, haha. If sweet wine is you’re thing, you may not enjoy these as much as I do!
Whitehaven
Price: $16.97
Region: New Zealand
Whitemaker Notes: “Fragrant aromas of gooseberry, blackcurrant leaf, boxwood, greengage plums, and a hint of tropical fruit. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, with vibrant acidity supporting bright, fragrant fruit flavors that linger on a long, clean finish.”
My thoughts: This is easily my favorite Sauvignon Blanc. I notice strong hints of grapefruit and subtle notes of pear. It is crisp, light, refreshing, and smooth with a dry finish. The ABV is 13%, so after two glasses you definitely have a nice buzz.
Christian Salmon
Price: $19.99
Region: France
Winemaker Notes: “This dry rose from the Pinot Noir grape offers delightful flavors of cherries and strawberries with touches of vanilla in a smooth, elegant style.”
My thoughts: This wine was newly introduced to me and immediately made the list of being one of my top favorites. You can definitely smell hints of vanilla and it is low in acidity and tannins. This Sancerre taste light and clean, which makes a perfect wine for brunch or simply if you just want to day drink! The ABV is 13%.
Apothic
Price: $10.99
Region: California
Winemaker Notes: “Layers of strawberry and watermelon with a hint of raspberry, for a refreshing wine that is light in color yet dark in nature.”
My thoughts: This is an amazing medium bodied rose for its price point! It smells fruity and crisp and has a zesty bite. It’s very acidic (my favorite), however, the finish is refreshing and smooth. The ABV is 12.5%.
