Hope you plan on watching Mean Girls today because it’s October 3rd! I can’t believe September is already over. October is jam-packed for us. We’re heading to our favorite pumpkin patch in Pennsylvania, potentially visiting the Field of Screams, and hosting a few dinner parties.
I was a bit late decorating our house for Halloween this year because we were out of the country. As soon as we got home, I dedicated a full two days to putting up the Halloween decorations. You guys know that over the years, I’ve always decorated with silver. This year, I wanted to change it up and incorporate gold! It all started when I saw these gorgeous snake candlestick holders at Target for $10!
If you remember this year’s fall tablescape, then you’ll recognize the plates, flatware, and glasses – they haven’t changed! I’ve really been into mixing and matching table linens, plates, and candlesticks to create an entirely different look!
I love starting with a black canvas for Halloween, so that typically means the tablecloth, placemats, and plates will almost always be black. This provides the perfect backdrop for using bolder colors to make everything pop against the table.
Candlesticks have always been my thing, and these snake-shaped candlestick holders cast an eerie glow across the table, creating an intimate ambiance.
I wanted the focal point to be simple yet chic, ensuring it wouldn’t detract from the candlestick holders. I fell in love with the idea of using green moss as a contrast against the black tablescape.
Adding the mini skulls, skeleton hands, and crow brought a touch of macabre flair. When I stepped back and admired the tablescape, it immediately conjured thoughts of Voldemort from Harry Potter—hahah. The combination of skulls and snakes gave it a distinct Death Eater vibe!
I would love to know how you decorated for Halloween this year! What spooky dishes do you usually prepare when you have guests over? Until next time 🙂
