You guys may be wondering why this is titled “The Traveling Mirror.” Those who know me, know that I do not go ANYWHERE without this mirror. Seriously. Whether I’m getting ready at a friends house or going on vacation, this little mirror goes everywhere with me! Now, let me get to the good part and tell you why the SimpleHuman Mirror is the best and you need it in your life asap.

First thing is first, I purchased mine about 6 years ago from Bed Bath and Beyond because you can use their 20% off coupon towards this purchase (I paid around $180). If you’re a huge wine and Prime girl like I am, then you can also find it on Amazon for the same price (found here)! I know, I know it sounds insane to pay that much but trust me, it’s worth it.
Five Year Warranty
Ok, so this is actually super important. KEEP YOUR RECEIPT! I’ve exchanged my mirror about 4 times (I’ll explain why in the cordless and rechargeable section). Bed Bath and Beyond honored the warranty each time. What I did was take a picture of the receipt and emailed it to myself. I also have a folder where I keep receipts for expensive products that have warranty’s just in case something happens.
Mimics Sunlight
Yup, that’s right. This mirror freaking mimics sunlight. Ever do your makeup in the bathroom then walk outside and suddenly notice your new foundation is off a shade or you just don’t look as good as you did inside? You will never have that issue with this! I don’t know what kind of technology this is but it works. My makeup looks the same whether I’m inside or outside. As a plus, it’s also really good lighting for selfies ;).
Cordless and Rechargeable
This is where I have a love / hate relationship with the SimpleHuman mirror. I love how it’s cordless and you only need to charge it every 2 weeks or so (depending on your usage). HOWEVER, you HAVE to use the charger it comes with. I have multiple chargers that fit the charging slot for this mirror but every time, without fail, that I use a different charger, the mirror short circuits and I have to exchange it for a new one (that’s where the warranty comes into play). It took me 4 exchanges to figure out that the charger was the root cause of my mirror not working, ha.
5x Magnification
This is easily the second best feature. You can see every pore, every line and every hair on your face, not kidding. It takes some getting use to but once you get the hang of it, you cannot go back to a regular mirror. This makes tweezing your eyebrows 1000x easier. It’s also a great help when applying eyeshadow and perfecting your winged liner.
Auto On / Off
This means the light automatically turns on when you sit in front of the mirror and will turn off the moment you walk away. You might be wondering how in the world do I travel with this thing without having the light on the whole time in my suitcase? SimpleHuman thought of that too! There’s an on / off button at the bottom that enables / disables this auto feature.
Well there you have it! Can you guys see why I’m so obsessed with this product and need it by my side wherever I go? Hah. This has seriously changed the game when it comes to getting ready in the morning. I was poking around SimpleHuman’s website this morning and saw that they just released a compact mirror with the exact same features (in rose gold too)! Best believe I will be getting that to keep in my purse as well 😉
